ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re looking for a strong core Java/Kotlin developer interested in bringing best practices to further the development of our Web3j library and tools. You’ll get an opportunity to not just work on highly popular Open-Source software, but also help build cutting edge development tooling. We don’t expect you to have blockchain or Ethereum experience, but a proven interest is a must. This is also a fantastic opportunity to be part of a fast growing company.

As a developer on the Web3 Labs Engineering team, you will be responsible for all things needed to help progress the Web3j library, related tools, and documentation. It’s a hands-on role looking for developers who take pride in their work. You will work collaboratively with the rest of the team and community.

This is a remote position – We’re happy to work with people based anywhere in a timezone that overlaps significantly with the UK (Europe, Africa).

REQUIREMENTS

• Java or Kotlin, and other related languages – 3+ years
• Experience with Git (Github, Bitbucket, or similar) – 3+ years
• Experience with Gradle, Maven, Intellij and other related technologies – 2+ years
• Proven interest in blockchain technology
• Proven interest with using or working on Web3 libraries (ethers.js, truffle, web3js, web3j, ..)
• Ability to work with an agile and remote team

BONUS

• Hands-on experience with peer-to-peer and distributed systems
• Hands-on experience with Solidity
• Hands-on experience with Geth, Besu, or equivalent
• Knowledge of the inner working of EVM or other blockchains
