Web3 Labs are the creators of the popular Open-Source Web3j library, downloaded over 1 million times, and used by Java and Android developers for connecting to the Ethereum blockchain. We are also building a next-generation blockchain using Rust and Substrate on Polkadot.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a senior software engineer with proven experience in Golang, Rust, C++, or similar system languages to join our blockchain platform team. As part of the core engineering team, you will be working on projects in the fields of cryptography, cross-chain bridges, and interoperability as well as building a new substrate-based blockchain on Polkadot. This is a great opportunity for engineers and developers from other industries to break into blockchain and Web3.

As a senior software engineer, you will contribute to all product development life-cycle including design, implementation, testing, and production. Day to day jobs responsibilities require you to participate in project planning, take ownership of your sprint tasks, as well as be comfortable with learning new technology, R&D and read research papers.

REQUIREMENTS

• At least 5 years of professional software development experience in at least one modern programming language, including Golang, Rust, or C++
• Experience with P2P and distributed systems
• Experience working with complex codebases
• Knowledge of cryptographic primitives, algorithms, and data structures
• An interest in decentralized blockchain scaling technology and Web3

BONUS

• Experience with Ethereum, Polkadot, or similar blockchains
• Experience writing smart contracts in Solidity, Ink!, Cairo, or similar languages
• Experience implementing Substrate pallets
• Open-source contributions
• Qualification in computer science, mathematics, or similar discipline
