Data Engineer Full Time

At Rpay we are building the platform to erase economic boundaries worldwide. Our goal is to make global essential financial services universally accessible, such as a stable currency account, cross-border payments, international card for spending and more. In the long term, we aim to become the global financial platform for regular people to connect with each other.

In our initial phase, we have already proven one of the major real-world use cases of crypto. Through our P2P digital wallet app, we already serve thousands of regular people in Latin America by providing them with an easy and safe way to save & spend stablecoins in a fast and cost-efficient way.

Role Summary

We are currently looking for a passionate problem-solver and self-driven Data Engineer to help us develop the data capabilities required to provide accurate & timely reporting for the business. You will own the design and development of our core data architecture to serve as the single source of truth for our bookkeeping, financial reporting and business analytics processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a scalable data warehouse (DW) through the implementation of a relational database management system
• Cleanse, normalize and standardize our datasets through the implementation of extract, transform, and load processes (ETL) to ensure data integrity and accuracy
• Work with the Engineering team to integrate various data sources such as our app’s back-end, cloud infrastructure, crypto exchanges, and other financial platforms
• Maintain and support the DW to ensure its stability and full compliance with the Engineering’s team security, QA, and documentation requirements
• Model on-chain and off-chain multi-currency transactions to support data validation and reconciliation processes for recurring accounting and financial reporting processes
• Analyze large datasets through SQL queries and/or scripting languages (Python, R) to solve for ad-hoc financial and/or operating analysis requirements
• Build metrics, data visualizations and self-serve dashboards through business analytics platforms to support ongoing financial and business reporting processes
• Support the generation of data-driven insights on business/product (cohort/funnel analysis), ops/liquidity (cash analytics, stress testing), or compliance (fraud, credit risk)
• Support future special IT projects such as a cloud-ERP implementation (e.g. NetSuite) through a middleware-based data integration and by establishing data definitions

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Actuarial or related STEM fields
• 4+ years combined experience in Data Warehousing, managing ETL data pipelines with role-based access controls (RBAC), and implementing BI & data analytics solutions
• Advanced proficiency with SQL with hands-on development experience in relational database management systems (e.g. PostgreSQL) and multi-dimensional data modeling
• Proven experience with scripting and programming languages such as Python or R
• Solid hands-on experience with cloud-based services (e.g. AWS, GCS, Azure)
• Experience with data visualization, BI/data analytics tools (e.g. MixPanel, Metabase)
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies and Scrum/Kanban practices is a plus
• Experience in retail banking, payments, fintech, and/or blockchain/crypto is a plus
• Understanding of accounting/bookkeeping requirements and processes is a plus
• Experience in data science, statistical analysis and predictive modeling is a plus
• Excellent communication skills with fluency in Spanish & English (spoken/written)
• High analytical, critical thinking and proven problem-solving abilities
• Excellent project management, organizational and presentational skills.
