The Engineering team

Quant’s Engineering team is a cornerstone of the company. It is responsible for turning designs from our Product team into robust, scalable solutions that will delight our demanding large financial institution and enterprise customers. Working in small, close-knit, multidisciplined squads, our engineers are involved not just in software development but also in refining the details of our products and their features. Your role

As a Software Engineer, you will be part of the team building functional products and applications. This involves translating acceptance criteria into design, writing clean and efficient code for various applications, and running tests to improve system functionality. Ultimately, you’ll implement and maintain Java and Type Script components and frameworks in our microservice architecture software throughout the development lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

As a Software Engineer, you will be part of the team building functional products and applications. This involves translating acceptance criteria into design, writing clean and efficient code for various applications, and running tests to improve system functionality. Ultimately, you’ll implement and maintain Java components and frameworks in our microservice architecture software throughout the development lifecycle.

• Prioritise and execute tasks in the software development lifecycle
• Write well-designed, efficient code based on feature specifications and testable code
• Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade existing systems
• Design database architecture
• Test and debug Java applications

Required skills or experience

• Hands-on experience with programming in Java and Type Script
• Interest in agile methodologies
• Experience as a Software Engineer or Software Developer
• Experience designing interactive applications
• Experience with test-driven development
• Good knowledge of Spring MVC
• Expert knowledge of Express and Node.JS
• Problem-solving skills
• Experience of working in a dynamic environment often with shifting priorities
• Knowledge of any of Docker, Kubernetes, RabbitMq

Desirable skills and experience

• Spring Boot
• Microservice Architecture
