The Engineering Team

Quant’s Engineering team is a cornerstone of the company. It is responsible for turning designs from our Product team into robust, scalable solutions that will delight our demanding large financial institution and enterprise customers. Working in small, close-knit, multidisciplined squads, our engineers are involved not just in software development but also in refining the details of our products and their features. Your role

As an Agile Delivery Manager, you will be part of the team building functional products and applications. This involves being highly focused on delivery of the product backlog through effective facilitation, coaching, and mentoring of the team whilst incorporating strong project management capabilities that also support solid stakeholder management through transparency of status and progress. Ultimately, you’ll ensure value is delivered by your team utilising the most effective Agile & Lean techniques whilst enabling the team to mature their practices and processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Mentor and coach a cross functional squad comprised of Product, UX, Software/DevOps/QA engineers
• Collaborate across squads with other Agile Delivery Managers to align on consistent ways of working
• Partner with Product to continuously deliver value, effectively managing backlogs
• Manage third party vendor delivery and budgets
• Coordinate iterations, daily stand-ups, planning, refinement, retrospectives, and demos
• Manage and ensure transparency of status & progress, team cycle times, throughput, defect rates, and delivery
• Proactively facilitate solutions for conflict & impediment resolution

The technology and tools you will be using

• Tools: Helm, Git, Visual Studio Code, IntelliJ, Postman, Clubhouse and Miro
• Tech Stack: Spring Boot, Java, JS, NodeJS , PHP and VueJS
• Platform: Kubernetes, AWS, Oracle
• Databases: Mongo and Postgres, amongst others

Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years managing technology based projects using Agile methodologies
• Understanding of portfolio management, experience of program management, and demonstrable experience of project management
• Demonstrable experience utilizing project management techniques such as Gantt charts, timelines, and RAID logs
• Extensive experience working with multiple Agile methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, Nexus, among others
• Significant and demonstrable experience providing transparency of status and progress, clearly articulating impediments and issues
• Pragmatic approach to problem solving, balancing the needs of the squad, deliverables, and business needs
• Demonstrable experience managing third party vendors, specifically hybrid teams consisting of full-time employees and third party team members
• Demonstrable experience managing third party vendor budgets

Desirable skills and experience

• Proven leadership skills as a team lead and coach to at least 3 engineers
• Experience of working in a lean and agile team with a strong focus on continual improvement
• Prior track record of experience of building high performing engineering teams
• Experience with TDD and continuous deployment
• Excellent knowledge of various Lean and Agile techniques, frameworks, and artefacts
• Excellent communication & servant leadership skills
