Developer Relations Engineer Full Time (Remote)

Mailchain is email for web3. We’re developing the next generation of messaging for web3 and the metaverse to safeguard communication for users. Do you care about user privacy, open source software, first class user experience, and developing new technologies that will benefit millions of users?

Without communication as a first class citizen, many actions taken for granted on the Internet cannot take place in web3. Users can’t receive direct communications related to their savings, loans, and financial positions. They can’t receive information from projects they care about in the context of how they interact with them. They can’t contact others in their community, for example, to make an offer to purchase a digital collectible. Businesses can’t receive receipts for payments, or invoices. Developers can’t be reached in the event of security issues and can’t send out important communications to their users if there is an issue, upgrade, or decision to be made.

Mailchain provides a multi protocol platform for sending and receiving messages between blockchain addresses. Users don’t need to reveal private keys or any other information about themselves. It’s as simple as using webmail.

What’s the opportunity?

Mailchain is building the next generation communication platform for web3 and needs a talented Developer Experience Engineer.

You will play a vital role in building Mailchain’s developer interfaces, prototyping new ideas, building integrations that raise the bar for web3 user experience. Your work will enable millions of decentralized web and metaverse users to communicate with one another.

What will you be doing?

• Work with the core team, re-inventing messaging applications for web, mobile and desktop.
• Create sample projects, tutorials, and demonstrations for our developer community showing how web3 messaging works.
• Build integrations with other blockchain projects, to bring web3 messaging to billions of users.
• Contribute to open-source libraries and technical documentation.

Requirements:

• Have 3+ years professional experience in developing applications with JavaScript.
• 1+ years blockchain development experience interacting with smart contracts.
• You are community driven and actively contribute to the open-source community.
• Experienced in writing technical documentation.
• Balance rapidly iterating and building for scale.
• Know how to design and write maintainable code.
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent English communication skills and collaboration abilities.

Bonus points:

• You have a software engineering blog or have experience in curating tutorials.
• Experience working on integration projects.
• Have had an interesting idea that you’ve turned into a personal engineering project
• Experience tackling ambiguous and previously undefined problems.
• Successfully build complex software systems.
• Ability to learn new languages, frameworks, and technologies quickly.
