Virtual Machine/Runtime Engineer Full Time (Remote)

Job Intro

As a Virtual Machine/Runtime Engineer at IOTA you’ll become a pioneer of the Move language and its execution environment, the Move Virtual Machine. We design, build and improve safe abstractions of complex systems to better the programmability layer of the open-source IOTA technology stack.

Requirements and Responsibilities

Requirements:

• Experience in programming language design, compilers, virtual machines and runtime environments.
• Experience in system programming languages such as Rust, Go or C++. Interest in working with Rust.
• Experience with smart contract development in any language.
• Exceptional communication skills both in written and verbal. You express your ideas in a clear and concise manner.
• Ownership mindset and is willing to get their hands dirty. You are goal oriented and learn quickly.
• Note that no prior web3 or blockchain experience is strictly required for this position. We welcome a fresh set of eyes from any industry!

Responsibilities:

• Becoming a well-rounded expert in Move and other DLT virtual machines.
• Designing and implementing new features to the Move programming language.
• Working closely with the protocol team to integrate Move into IOTA.
• Designing and implementing the IOTA Move Framework on top of the core VM that adds IOTA specific system functionality and ensures smooth experience for smart contract developers.
• Building tools, SDKs and standards to enhance the security and usability of the IOTA Move Framework.
