Software Engineer – Blockchain Drivers Full Time

About the Blockchain Drivers Team

We make Daml run on distributed ledgers by developing and maintaining drivers for enterprise-grade blockchains. We follow a collaborative approach that factors, embraces, and insists upon diverse perspectives: we are a small team where you matter and your opinion is valuable.

About this role

• Designing and implementing blockchain integrations (mostly in Scala), and documenting their features and usage for developers and customers alike.
• Collaborating with peers and stakeholders by providing feedback and reviews.
• Researching and evaluating blockchain platforms that may be serving our customers, as well as keeping up to date with emerging BFT technologies.
• Automating functional and performance testing using state-of-the-art infrastructure-as-code technologies.
• Helping our support team to resolve issues raised by our customers.

About you

• You are a software engineer with significant experience in building, shipping and maintaining production-ready JVM applications.
• You understand the main problems arising from working on and scaling distributed systems and enjoy the challenges that come with that.
• You know your way around Docker, Kubernetes and at least one of the following cloud providers: GCP, AWS or Azure.
• You have worked with tracing, metrics, and log collection systems and know how to use them effectively.
• You enjoy working in a team and collaborating with others.

Extra credit

• You are comfortable writing code in Scala and are not afraid to occasionally work with other platforms, depending on the integration at hand (e.g. Go, Rust, C++).
• You have experience working with enterprise blockchains and distributed ledgers such as Besu, Fabric and others.
