Backend Developer [Python]: Web3 Venture Builder Full Time (Remote)

We are a pioneering web3 venture builder and professional services boutique. We have been building on Ethereum since 2014. Our mission is to empower talented individuals to build open, secure and reliable web3 solutions.

35 team members are collaborating in our Mainz & Berlin offices in Germany, and remote. Our ventures include Beamer Bridge (rollup-rollup bridging), Shutter Network (malicious MEV protection), Trustlines Network (P2P mutual credit), and Raiden Network (P2P high volume payments).

Our service portfolio includes smart contract security audits and web3 strategy consulting.

YOUR MISSION

We are looking for a new team member joining our Venture Pipeline team to co-build new ventures.

You will;

• Work closely with our Founders in Residence,
• Develop multiple prototypes and MVPs for our web3 ventures per year,
• Play a critical role in bringing venture ideas to life,
• Design and develop backend systems for web3 ventures with a focus on Ethereum integration,
• Research, learn and new web3 protocols and libraries,
• Collaborate with our frontend and blockchain teams to build prototypes and MVPs,
• Optimize and improve the performance of existing backend systems,
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to the development of best practices,
• Train, educate and hand over your work and knowledge to new venture developers,
• Write blog articles about your experience and knowledge with new ventures and technologies,
• Attend events, meet-ups and conferences (if desired).

YOUR PROFILE

To apply for this position, you must have:

• At least 4 years of backend development experience,
• Solid experience in development processes to build and release prototypes and MVPs,
• Basic understanding of blockchain technologies and smart contract,
• Full proficiency with Python and frameworks like Flask/Django
• Entrepreneurial and business mindset,
• Strong communication skill to explain technical concepts to business minds,
• Quick learning skill to understand new business ideas, protocols and libraries,
• Passion about data ownership and user privacy,
• An out-of-the-box mindset paired with curiosity,
• Advanced level of English proficiency – both written and spoken,
• An ardent personality for diversity and inclusion.

As a bonus you are:

• Experienced with other backend languages such as; Rust, Go, PHP, etc.
• Experienced in Ethereum and Smart Contract development [personally and/or professionally],
• Experienced working in a Venture Studio or Venture Builder,
• Interested in DevOps and CI,
• Willing to relocate to Berlin/Mainz, Germany.
